Your dog loves chasing wildlife – but you don’t.

✅ You feel overwhelmed by your dog’s predatory behaviour and want to learn how to turn things around

✅ Or you have a puppy and want to prevent problems with hunting behaviour right from the start

Client wins & kind words

Before Predation Substitute Training, I was being dragged behind my dog while she was gleefully chasing. Thanks to your clear and concise protocols, I was able to show her how we can hunt together! She is so driven to play the games with me, and it has strengthened our relationship and communication.

Joy S., USA

I was struggling with handling Lalo’s high prey drive and walks were a challenge for us as he would constantly hunt and chase squirrels hitting the end of the leash and barking. After learning about PST and partaking in a workshop, our walks have completely changed. Lalo has activities to fill his hunting needs and can sit at a distance and watch a squirrel. He is calmer on his walks and disengages on his own from squirrels to play his games.

Danelle K., Canada

Having been a street dog until 1.5 years old, my Border Collie mix Samson had a long reinforcement history with chasing animals – from rabbits to deer. His habit of merry-go-rounding when he saw animals made leash training that much more difficult and frustrating. Transitioning to calm ‘stalking’ was such a difference not only on my end of the leash, but was a much more natural and overall calm behaviour for Samson who was already feeling frustrated by his new city life. Could not recommend more!

Laura P., USA

… how different Simone’s approach is to the common things you hear about prey drive. Giving dogs appropriate outlets for their natural needs has always been a priority of mine and this course teaches you techniques and games that are exactly that. I enjoyed the videos that were filmed with her own dogs and client dogs after explaining the theory to see what the methods will look like in the real world.

FAQ

What you need to know

Is this class for only wildlife or can it help with cats in the home or car chasing?

The course is designed for wildlife encounters, but some information could be theoretically applied to your pets as well. However, the course is not specifically tailored for that purpose.

If my dog has once caught and/or killed an animal, would the course still help?

Yes, absolutely! Every dog can learn PST. It’s never too late to regain control and enjoy your walks again.

Are terriers/other special breeds included in the 15+ different dog breeds?

Yes, we cover Terriers, Hounds, Labradors, Border Collies, Dachshunds and various breeds. Also, keep in mind that we focus on each dog’s individual behaviour rather than just breed tendencies. The course aims to use PST tools that perfectly match your dog.

Not sure if my dog just wants to scare cats away or chase. She jumps into bushes when she thinks there are cats there.

In almost every case, this is not about scaring them away but is part of the predatory behaviour chain. “Call off the Chase” would be the perfect start to understand, what your dog is doing and how to manage it. 🙂

Can this protocol be applied as a preventative?

Absolutely! If you start training before your dog has a high interest in predatpory behaviour, it makes things much easier for both of you.

Is the course suitable for a puppy?

Yes, absolutely! It’s the perfect prevention for you and your little pup!

Can you teach an older dog these tricks?

Yes, you definately can! Age doesn’t matter; PST works for puppies and older dogs alike. 🙂

Is the course designed for pet parents or professionals?

It’s for pet parents but also serves as a starting point for professionals without experience in Predation Substitute Training. For those interested in becoming a PST professional, there’s a special Instructor course too.

Is access to the course limited in time?

No, you have lifelong access to the course as long as it exists. I don’t want to stress you with any limits, as learning new behaviours and tools should be fun and helpful – and not determined by any dates.

Is there a payment plan?

Yes, there is a payment plan with 2 installments available.

When will the course start?

Call off the Chase starts directly after you’ve purchased the course. You’ll receive an e-mail with your login details to watch the first module right away.

You have no time to start rigth now? No problem, as you get lifelong access and can use it whenever you like to!

How and when can I access the content of the course?

You can access all content on our course platform. You can start the course whenever you like to. You will then receive a new module every week.

Is there a guarantee that I will achieve specific results by completing the course?

There is no guarantee of success, as results depend on participants’ implementation and perseverance.

What will I learn in the course that is not in your books?

The course goes much deeper than the books. We delve into much more detail, the videos make the methods visually comprehensible and aid in applying them even better in your daily interactions with your dog. 🐶

Is PST appropriate for use with dogs not in the household/reactive dogs?

Although some content may be helpful, I don’t recommend using Call off the Chase or PST for this issue. There are more suitable solutions and protocols, like BAT (Behaviour Adjustment Training).

I have 2 dogs with prey drive. Is it better to work with them separately?

If you can train them separately, it’s advantageous. But if not, you can also work with them together; progress might be slower but it will still be effective. In any case, if you stay consistent, you will benefit from learning and training with 2 dogs, because every dog gives you other insights and aha-moments.

Can you still play fetch or find the ball during walks with this course?

Of course! There’s nothing wrong with playing fetch, if you do it sporadically and with a proper cool down

Is there in-person support or review of videos? Is there any contact available if we have questions as we work through the course?

This course is a self-learning experience. However, I offer another course (Oh Deer) with personal support, which is perfect for those who have laid the foundation with Call off the Chase and want to learn more.

Is everything in English? Or is there a German translation?

This course is only available in English.

Will this course be offered again at a later date?

Yes, for sure. But not at the same price point.

Does it offer CEUs (Continuing Education Units)?

Not yet, but we’re currently working on that.

Do the modules have to be followed in order or can you be doing several at the same time?

You will receive a new module every week to guide you through the process of PST step by step! You can always review older modules but can’t skip ahead to unreleased ones. This ensures a strong PST foundation before advanced exercises. Once you have gone through the course, you can open and use the modules as you like!

Is there a recommended pace for completing the course, or can I go at my own speed?

I recommend to take your time, to learn and implement just like it feels right and manageable for you and your dog! There is no need to rush through the course.

Is there a timescale for the modules or do you have them for as long as you need?

We will release a new module each week, allowing you time to implement what you’ve learned. After all the modules are released, you‘ll retain lifelong access (as long as this course is available).

Which PST course is the best fit for me?
